Sailing RS:X sailor Jon-Paul Tobin of Takapuna Boating Club won bronze among a world class fleet of board sailors at the Perth International Regatta. The notorious Fremantle Doctor wind was in full force in the lead-up to the regatta. Race day: Thundercat racing took to Takapuna Beach on November 21 for a surf-cross race day in preparation for January’s national series. This season, races will take place in summer hot spots such as Whangamata, Mount Maunganui, Waihi, Waipu, Piha and Hawkes Bay, with 23 teams battling for the national championship.
