Retire in Settlers Style Have a look at our stunning new apartments! In memory of Ryan Final prep: Lance Walsh readies the 1923 Ford T-bucket for this month's show. FROM Page 1 His first hot rod was a 1937 Ford pickup, then came a 1932 Ford coupe done in near original style, followed by a 1927 Ford roadster he built himself. Now he has a 1957 Oldsmobile he's rebuild- ing to look old but with all mod cons. A Harbour City Rod Club member for 12 years, Lance says hot rods are becoming increasingly popular. He says there's a fascination about them among the young and his oldest son already has a 1939 Chev- rolet sedan. After the show, Chuck and Sheila want to take Ryan's T-bucket to other New Zealand car events. The Moores are orig- inally from Colorado and settled in New Zealand after visiting in 1986. They hope to take the hot rod to United States car shows as well. Chuck admits they're unlikely to ever drive the T-bucket. It's changed from what Ryan and I were doing as a first project and has been turned into a monument.'' Sheila and Chuck thank those who have helped prepare their hot rod, particularly Lance Walsh, Steve Levine of Imagin-Airing Custom Art on the North Shore, Dr Bob' Still and Tom Black.
