Sushi Asahi: A great spot behind Pak'N Save, off Archers Rd. Sushi Asahi Japanese Restaurant recently opened in Glenfield and this stylish dining estab- lishment is well worth checking out! Asahi Japanese Res- taurant is owned and operated by Francis Park who has spent 10 years in the industry, having previously run a success- ful restaurant of the same name in Orewa, and another in Devonport. Francis clearly knows what it takes to create a great restaurant, as Asahi offers delicious fare created by a chef with 15 years experi- ence, friendly service and a dining environment that s warm and welcom- ing. There s even a shel- tered outdoor courtyard, perfect for summer dining. As well as tasting amazing, Japanese cuisine has the added advantage of being one of the healthiest forms of cooking, and on Asahi s wide and varied menu you ll find plenty to tempt the taste buds including favourites like sushi, sashimi, tempura and miso soup. Asahi should also be your first port of call if you re looking for a quick and tasty lunch to takeaway or enjoy in the restaurant. On any given day there are 80 differ- ent varieties of sushi available and being low in fat, sushi is an ideal choice for health con- scious food lovers. Another great choice for lunch is a bento box. The teriyaki bento comes in three varieties -- chicken, pork or fish, and incorporates vegetable tempura, fresh salads, mussels, a prawn skewer and sushi with rice. Asahi is also very family-friendly and groups of 10 or more will enjoy a 10 percent dis- count when they dine in. Sushi Asahi Japanese Cuisine is located at 239 Archers Rd, Glenfield (behind Pak'N Save Wairau Rd). Open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 9pm (closed Sunday). Phone 444-2600.
