Catering Instructors are responsible for supervising and training prisoners to prepare all meals within a kitchen environment that caters for all prisoner meals as well as providing on site catering services to Corrections staff. The primary focus of the positions will be on the day to day operational running of the kitchens (with a degree of prisoner on the job training required). At times Catering Instructors are also required to run and supervise the Laundry service with appropriate induction provided. We are looking for people who have strong catering experience and hold a relevant trade qualification. The successful applicant will have great people skills, the motivation to want to manage and develop people as well as having good business sense. Previous supervisory and management skills would be advantageous as would experience as an adult educator or NZQA Assessor holding NZQA unit standard 4098.
