Co-ordinator Sally Cargill says the celebration kicks off on Saturday with a Christmas garden party at the Browns Bay Village Green, from 1pm to 4pm. It caps off the day's Christmas festi- val at the town centre which starts with the annual Santa Parade at 10.30am. There will also be an air show, skydivers, helicopter joy rides and children's entertainment. We will also have a display of the work produced by children who attend Joyce's sewing classes. There's no charge but we need to know how many people to expect, so call Debbie on 478-4091 to book your place,'' she says. Ms Cargill says a preschool Christmas party will be on December 10 at the village green from 10am to noon. She says fun and entertainment are in store for the kids, with stress- busting morning tea for the grown- ups. There will be Carols by the Sea at the green from 7pm to 9pm. The Salvation Army Band and local churches will be facilitating the event for some community carol singing. Waiake residents are having a neighbourhood Christmas picnic at Waiake Beach on December 11 from 5pm to 8pm. Band Vertigo will provide entertain- ment and the Toyvan will be there for the kids.
