By SARAH CODDINGTON Sam Stevens is getting his red nose out to help support Cure Kids on Red Nose Day today. The Bayswater resi- dent has cystic fibrosis. It was not discovered what was wrong with him until he was 15 months old. The condition pro- duces a thick sticky mucus that clogs lungs and traps bacteria. The Cure Kids am- bassador takes medi- cation each day and has physiotherapy twice a day to help clear his lungs. Sam, 12, was thrilled to appear in the official Red Nose Day video of the song You make the whole world smile with Anika Moa. He attended the Rainbow s End family fun day as part of the fundraising campaign events. Cure Kids aims to raise $1 million to help fund research into life- threatening childhood illnesses. All the money raised during the campaign, including $1 from every pack of Cadbury Jaffas sold in Shell, Paper Plus and Take Note stores, will go towards funding vital medical research into the treatment of these illnesses.
