Photo: BEN WATSON By MICHELLE ROBINSON Motorcyclist Andy Dwen and his friends enjoy riding every weekend, but this Saturday it'll be for an exceptional cause. Up to 200 riders are expected to hit the road from the Old Albany Pub to a favourite stop in Puhoi to raise funds for North Shore Riding for the Disabled. The Harley riders of North Shore Motorcycle Riders Club are getting behind their president Andy Dwen who organised the fundraiser. The club is also thank- ful to sponsors who are supporting the event. Other bikers are encouraged to join in, not just Harley riders, he says. Since the club opened three years ago it has annually supported the RSA but this year it's the RDA's turn. They're not govern- ment funded and they don'tgetaheckofalotof funding.'' Proceeds from the ride will go towards the RDA's Christmas party next week. It's just phenomenal,'' RDA secretary Lizzie Brandon says. These guys have inspired us to seek other support.'' The charity ride kicks off at noon sharp from the Old Albany Pub with riders to assemble from 10am. Participation is by $5 donation.
